@rainmechanic Exactly its designed to carry the combination required for the current climate, so you wont need the full bag unless you do a lot of -30 camping.
Its a great system for a low price!

Ive heard some complain about the weight, however imo 10lbs is pretty decent when you factor in the fact that you can ditch the tent. Constructing natural shelter combined with the Goretex bivy alone would only weigh 3lbs. . and if its not -30 degree’s you only have to bring one of the bags. . so really only 7 or 8 lbs for your sleep system / shelter. not that bad really. I have a north face bag , so if i can find that compression sak /goretex bivy for 50 or 60 bucks i would buy it in a heartbeat

Its definately not a light option especially for the full system.
Summertime with just the bivy and the green bag it would work fine.
I imagine these are carried in vehicles when using all of them?
I have to agree on the other lighter options out there.
    Thanks for the comments

Great review – thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking for information regarding this system.

It seems a little bit large even when compressed. Having been in -20F with friends, I know there are lighter, smaller options. It’s affordable than major brands’ offerings, but might be a bit much to carry.

Can you tell me where you bought this and how much it was. Great Video by the way, good review of what looks like a really good product.
