Cat’s Meow, I have one and it works well, Make sure the zipper doesn’t unzip on you. Good in wet as well. Nicky, let some air out of your thermarest and it will not slip out from under you as easily, make a cover of fleece or at least a sleeve for the trunk of your body. Have you used a line level in your HH? Taughtline?, try trucker’s hitch. Any bug problems let me know I have answers.
@nickfish03 ah just wondering, it’s a pretty popular bag for scouts, I have 3.
@fzdx7n You could make a Super Shelter, it’s not really worth buying but it would be a fun DIY project.
@tnfcatsmeow I’m not actually a participant but on staff as an interpreter. I don’t know of anyone with that bag.
Interesting video.
I’m still easing into hammocking, and that was the best easiest way for me to get some insulation. . . sleep on my pad inside the hammock. . . of course I always use my bag as a “quilt” I just don’t like being all zipped up.
I’d like to try using my closed cell pad on the outside bottom of my hammock, with a space blanket or lite fleece blanket as a bottom layer beneath the hammock to hold it in place. . . maybe use some bungee cord attach it to the rdge line to allow some give.
Anyone in your troop have a North Face Cat’s Meow bag?
