@Slash28ACR Ya he picked Trout as his youtube name. I’ve been happy with Kelty. They’re not the lightest bag out there, but if you want light you’re going to pay for it. I’ve found Kelty to be reasonably priced for a great bag.
“. . . great info in your subs. ” Man many of these guys have awesome ideas with great knowledge behind the ideas. I’ve learned a lot from them.
Cute little dude you got there Crocket, are you calling him “trout”?
Got to get me some compression bags before I go backpacking (first time ever!) in the Pyrenees this year, also trying to decide on a backpack. I’m almost set on a Coyote 80 litre (4750cu inch), kelty seem to have a lot of solid feedback.
Thanks for the vid, you’ve got some great information in your subs.
@TheVAboss I recently bought a North Face Cat’s Meow mummy bag, rated for 20 degrees. They definately cost a bit more, but it packs small and more importantly, it WILL keep you warm. And if you are out in the woods, you don’t want to get cold. One of the smartest purchases I’ve made out of all my gear.
Another great vid. keep up the great work!!
As others have pointed out, eVent is a type of waterproof breathable fabric. What makes it different is that when it came out it was a waterproof breathable fabric that was also air-permeable. This allows for air to pass through while the compression straps squeeze the air out of the sack. Then you can have a compression bag without a valve. Brilliant idea.
If Trout says its so, then I’m a believer. Now. If they could just come up with a anti-gravity bag.
Another great video. I don’t know if anyone else told you but Event is the type of waterproof breathable fabric. It’s main competitor is Gortex. Have a good one man.
Pretty cool. Just don’t know how you could’ve done this review without Trout! Way to go boys!
Trout’s a decent camera operator!
Thanks for sharing. Another great outing with your boy! Just think. . . very soon he can carry his own gear. . . LOL. Be safe out there.
Great Vid Trout! neat product, thanks for reviewing guys. Keep up the great work.
It has been about 20 years since I did any serious camping, I have never even heard of compression bags, these look great for space saving, thanks for the info. Big thumbs up to trout!
Yea my Coleman is sort of a mummy design I just would love something a little more lightweight and compact. I’m thinking either a north face cats meow or a kelty
good stuff, I love mine I have several
Very good guys. I’m currently using the compression bag that came with my sleeping bag. That one looks a bit nicer though. I’ll have to look into it. Trout keeps getting better and better with being in front of the camera!
Crocket My boy is about the same age. I can’t wait to take him on his first. Good call on the Event comp/press sack. I always learn from your vids man. Take care.
@Cr0cket20 Ha cheers for beening upfront on the sling bro, but i still credit you for it. Always enjoy your vids bro, esp with your lil’1’s tagging along, making memories outstanding. take care.
@sabr686 Can’t agree more (especially with him getting his looks from his mom). That’s really what its all about, getting out there and spending the time with the little guy giving us something to look back on. Great comment Sabr.
@TheVAboss If you’re backpacking try looking at some of the mummy style bags. Pretty well suited for the task.
@CampfireTalk Great point Campfire. Isn’t it fun when family gets something on us. . . then teases us to the end of time. My family has some of those on me too.
@BC4Lyphe Nothing special. It’s a Relic, about $30, and waterproof. Pretty straight up.
@TheDishD I may. In full disclosure though, I got the idea from another youtuber called wall2rockclimber. I think I did it a little different than what he has, but that is definitely where the idea came from. Thanks for watching Dish.
@bigT5g Extremely good point.
@xdmccwdude Watch out, it gets addicting. But in a good way.
@74Hobbes I have that same ever growing list.
