    @envirosponsible look for the foil packets of peanut butter and shed the weight of the jar. found them at the local grocery store next to the lunchables.

  4. Quantrill71 says:

    Where is your gun. . . . tube tent. . . . stove. . . snare. . . radio. . . . mag light. . . etc. . .

  5. Rokko8652 says:

    Ditch the saw. Get a Sabercut hand saw. Better, more space efficient.

    @envirosponsible Jerky and dried fruits, with a “masters degree” on water procurement, thats how you do it. personally i live in Texas, ill be headed to Pecos, New Mexico. THATS my stomping grounds.

    Nice bag! It is great so see a more lightweight bug out bag as usually you see people with massive, redundant, 30-50 pound packs. Mobility is very important to me, so I have my own Bug Out Bag weight around 5 kilos (roughly 10 pounds) at most, unless I have to carry more water or a sleeping bag.

    Oops, double post.

    Nice to see you’ve even got one of those inexpensive plastic shovels. Those are outstanding and very lightweight. I finally broke the tip on one because I was digging in loose granite but overall, they’re hard to beat. County Comm now sells the “U-dig-It” folding stainless shovel albeit at the penalty of expense and weight. Great video!

    You can replace the mosquito netting/jacket for a handful of ant pile dirt. Just rub it on your exposed skin and you are all set. Yes you get dirty but it repels all sorts of pests including wasps/bees.

    @Omega1888 I live in NYC and my only water supply is the Atlantic Ocean or Gonorrhea Hudson River, so a ceramic water filter is no good.

    I found that the Katadyn Survivor is the only water filter that will desalinate AND remove viruses. It uses reverse osmosis to pump fresh water out of sea water OR even urine if I had to

    Katadyn Survivor 35 is the only manual reverse osmosis desalinator in the world and used by the US Military and others around the world. Water is too bulky to carry and store

  12. TheBrotherMo says:

    Get a Katadyn Survivor 35

    It is the only manual water purification system that can make fresh water from sea water OR urine. If you live near the coast, how will you get fresh water? Set up a huge distillation system to lick condensation off plastic? That’s for suckers.

    The Katadyn Survivor will allow you to extend your limited water supply. 1 gallon a day goes fast, BUT if you can use reverse osmosis to pump fresh water out of contaminated water. . . you can live longer.

    @skindresser You are right about the population, but I was trying to suggest trade items that might be more practical than silver coins . . . in case you do need to interact with people on your way out of town.

    I haven’t watched The Colony because I know its fake . . . in a real situation, the first thing that would happen is the men would rape all the women, and I haven’t heard about that happening on the Colony so it can’t be real.

    @3125261 yes a small fire kit is very useful. i made one myself(4 lighters,magnesium lighter,waterproof matches-i dipped the matches in nail polish it works,some cotton and vaseline,a lens)

  15. skindresser says:

    @Apuma17 also very important. . . . fire starter aswell. . . flashlights. . . firearms. . . .

  16. skindresser says:

    @ConfederateHandjob why would you even want to be around “people”. . fight the urge to be a herd animal as humans are naturally. if the SHTF ill be no where near the normal population. ill return every few weeks/ months to see what the herd has done to itself. stop watching the discovery channel the colony isnt real. lol

  17. hahaman554 says:

    You are going to need at least two Fleshlights if you want to even stand a chance.

  20. TheBrotherMo says:

    I got a PUR 35 desalinator

    Only thing in the world that lets me pump fresh water from any water source.

    Even removing salt from sea water.

  21. ConfederateHandjob says:

    I understand your logic with carrying the silver coins, but I would carry something that certain people will really be desperate for . . . I suggest a bag of weed and some rolling papers, or a few packs of cigarettes, or a bag full of tampons. They would also be lighter to carry.

  22. KINGJULIANLIVES001 says:

    @envirosponsible Well said.

  23. jabara83 says:
