The 0-3 will be a little big, but it also depends on the size of your baby. It would be safe to just pack the 0-3. With Josiah, all his clothes were a little big for a while, but he grew into them.
Good luck and congrats
You should get a couple pair of newborn just in case. I was told my 2nd would be big like my first. She was 7 pounds, 12 oz. My first was 9 pounds, 14 oz. She left the hospital wearing a premie outfit, the only one I got at my shower.
pack one outfit for you -a maternity outfit is fine. for babe, pack one outfit and a jacket. wrap babe in a blanket.
You certainly could buy a newborn outfit, but in my experience even those were big. the best thing i decided to do was pack a long footless one piece. it was simple, cute and the sleeves were the only thing i had to adjust.
they look like this:

Since they don’t have leggings like a romper it doesn’t matter how long or small your baby is. it’s more like a gown. i also brought onsies to put under the one piece for extra warmth, and of course, socks.
I did bring a cute outfit for the nursery pictures, but to bring baby home i used the one piece gowns.
My baby was 7 pounds 1 ounce and she wore newborn clothes for the first month. The 0-3 was too big. However I wouldn’t buy a bunch. Buy a couple sleepers with a zipper (you do not want to be buttoning everything back up at 2 am. ) At home we mainly kept her in a diaper and a blanket but it’s nice to have an outfit to take him home in. Congrats!
I would get at least a few Newborn things. Most babies will grow out of the Newborn clothes within a month or so, but the 0-3 month stuff is pretty big at first.
Newborn if your baby is under 9 pounds. . . . . my baby was 8 pd 9 oz at birth and newborn was still a little big.
I packed 0-3 stuff and it was HUGE and my son was a good size (7lbs 9oz). The outfit we ended up bringing him home from the hospital in is just fitting him now at 11 weeks old. Everyone told me the same thing- don’t buy newborn clothing or diapers because they’ll outgrow it so fast! I found that wasn’t true at all and I almost got 3 months use out of his newborn stuff! So I say go ahead and buy a couple newborn sleepers to pack, may as well just in case
Good luck & all the best!
Unless the baby is 10lbs or more they will probably be a little big. I didn’t even bother to buy smaller sizes though (nb) because you’ll get 2 weeks use out of it. I would just bring the 0-3 month clothes, it will be a little roomy but so what? Your baby will most likely be swaddled or in a snow suit going home anyways.
The 0-3 clothes will be a little big when your baby is born, but that’s not such a problem, being that he can’t move or go anywhere. You can buy newborn-sized clothing, but be warned: your baby probably won’t be able to wear it for very long.
We bought my daughter a newborn-sized outfit to go home from the hospital in, and she outgrew it within a week.
Good luck!
