Homeless people tent?

Shουld wе erect a tent іn a park fοr homeless people? I mean thеу hang around thеrе anyway, bυt аt lеаѕt thеу сουld stay сοοl/warm. Wе wouldn’t take іt frοm tax dollars, јυѕt donations. Whаt аrе уουr opinions?
I really dο feel bаd fοr thе people wіth kids whο hаνе nο room іn homeless shelters.

A tent is like putting a band-aid on a broken arm. There are so many reasons people are homeless. Mental illness, drugs, alcohol, bad luck, apathy. There is no one solution.

They have facilities for homeless people that include showers and laundry and food and health care and toilets, so a tent wouldn’t do much good because not that many people can fit in a tent, even the ones the military use.

Hi Coco; You obviously have a caring heart for hurting people. That’s a wonderful thing. As for your proposed idea for housing the homeless, although it’s a beautiful, altruistic idea, the parks are regulated for certain things. As crazy as it sounds, it’s even illegal to fall asleep in a park nowadays, let alone pitch a tent. The city would have to issue a licence through the city bylaw department. It’s highly unlikely that would happen. Even day-long events in parks must be licenced. Sadly, even though there are more than enough abandoned buildings for homeless people to get out of the cold and damp weather, they must seek the owner’s approval, and the buildings must meet current building code standards. All useless red tape. It’s a case of NIMBY or not in my back yard. I hope you take this matter further, whether as a career or volunteer work. The world needs more caring people like you.
