Going camping with chewable medicine, will animals smell it?

I’m bringing a car sickness medicine called Bonine fοr Kids, іt smells οf artificial grape. i wіll bе keeping іt іn іt’s box (opened) іn a plastic baggy. And I аm іn a tent аnd thе medicine іѕ іn a back pack οr duffle bag.

Wіll animals bе аblе tο smell іt? I’m talking аbουt lіkе black bears, racoons, ect.

Yes!!! Store it as you do your food, in a bear box, cannister, or bag. Anything that has a fragrance, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash all smell like food to a bear.

No I don’t believe so but for good measure leave it in your vehicle. We have never had any problems with bears but we did camp where a bear made a visit one night—to KOA campground.

Play it safe, always assume that a bear will smell food or the meds you have. Like the person above said lock it up where a bear can’t get to it.
Better to be over safe then take a chance and have a bear go through your gear.

Animals sense of smell is very good so they will smell it

Bear bag it with the rest of the food.

Anything “food flavored” should be treated as food.

yup, just like they’ll be able to smell that tiny piece of hot dog or ketchup on your shirt. keep it in a bearproof container! and leave it somewhere away from you, but somewhere you won’t forget ie strung up in a tree.

If you are car camping, keep all toiletries in the car, including meds. Bears smell everything, plastic bag or duffel does not inhibit scent. String it up with your food if in the backcountry. Also, leaving those things in your tent can lead to forest rodents eating a hole into it! learned that the hard way. My poor tent.
