What is a good tent to start camping with?

I’m looking tο ѕtаrt camping аnd I’m thinking аbουt asking fοr a tent fοr Christmas, I’d lіkе a two person tent іf possible (I lіkе tο hаνе room tο mονе аbουt) аnd I need one thаt саn stand up tο thе weather јυѕt іn case thеrе’s a freak rainstorm οr something, аnd I’d prefer thаt thе tend bе a 4 season one.

I don’t рlаn tο dο аnу bіg time camping maybe a day οr two аt mοѕt аnd mοѕt іf nοt аll οf іt wіll bе done іn thе coastal plain region οf NC (though I mіght lіkе tο try thе mountain region a few times аѕ well.

Thе tents I’m looking аt аrе follows
Eureka Adventure Apex 2FG
Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure
Wenzel Alpine 8.5 X 8-Feet Dome Tent

Arе thеrе οthеr, better tents fοr mе tο consider? Mу budget іѕ preferably less thаn $100.

Thanks іn advance fοr уουr hеlр guys.
Another qυеѕtіοn:
Whаt οthеr supplies ѕhουld I bring fοr a day οr two οf camping?
Thanks fοr аll thе tips guys, I’ve narrowed іt down tο thе

Eureka Tetragon 9 Family 9-Foot bу 9-Foot Four-Person Tent

аnd
Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure 7′ 5″ bу 4′ 11″ Two-Person Tent

Whісh οf thеѕе wουld уου recommend?
Sіnсе thе latter іѕ thе cheaper one I wаѕ wondering whісh one іѕ better fοr mе? I’m аbουt 6′1″ ѕο wіll thеrе bе enough space fοr mе іn thе Apex?

Thanks again fοr аll thе hеlр.

Camping is all about being together.
So i suggest buying a van.
Then Write “FREE CANDY” on the sides.
    You’ll never be lonely again.
    Happy Camping

Go to Walmart and buy a 4 person Coleman brand tent. They are guaranteed not to leak. Nobody makes a 4 season tent. If you ever want to go with a friend this is perfect.

Unless you are backpacking, I would recommend at least a four person tent that you can stand up in. It’ll give you room to bring all your gear in and if you have to be inside during the rain for any length of time, you’ll be glad you got a big one.

plenty of companies make a four-season tent, actually. my brother even has one. these aren’t for your average campers, though, and definitely don’t cost less than $100. but for the typical car-camper or short-distance hiker, any tent will do.

i used to sell both the Wenzel and Eureka tents. never heard a customer come back with an opinion of a Wenzel, but they seem like any other. only heard great things about the Eureka brand, just your run-of-the-mill tent that lasts a long time. otherwise, Coleman makes a good cheap-o tent, too. i have one i found on sale for $10 and think it’s great. and you’ll be fine in any of those tents under average weather conditions like a common rainstorm.

one thing to know about tents is that when they say “four person,” they really mean “four people packed like sardines. ” so if you’re planning on using this tent for two or three people, then get one designed for three or four.

what to bring for three days of camping really depends on what amenities you like to have with you. without preparing a list, just think about what food you could bring and what activities you want to do. clothes-wise, prepare for the seasonably-worst weather you could expect, which typically just means an extra set of clothes and a jacket. and considering you’ll have a car nearby on your first few times out, then you’ll always have that Wal-Mart safety valve.

A four-season tent is built to withstand huge snow and wind storms. There is a huge price difference between three- and four-season tents. You won’t find a true four-season tent in your price range. Just don’t camp in a hurricane :)

Eureka is a good value at a low price point. More expensive tents weigh less, which is good if you are backpacking.

I”ve been using this one for a while:

    Lightweight and easy to setup.

Depending on if you will have a source for clean water be sure to bring either water purifying tablets or some kind of filter.

    I use vangos!
they are pretty simple and not very cool looking but if you want a tent that is hard and quick to construct get one!

COLEMAN ARA 4- BEST TENT I HAVE OWNED, NEVER LEAKED- EVEN IN THE SUMMERS WORST STORM, MIGHT WANT TO GET BETTER STAKES FOR IT THOUGH :)

I find a model and look at feedback off of Amazon . . . i like the eureka tetragon, I used one for a summer. Good tent .
Nobody makes 4 season tent, Rusty? Seriously ?
