Get in your Sleeping bag- and Die. . . .
fuck getting in your sleeping bag. . . give these kids knives!
So where was the training part. . .
– good tent fabrics are flame retardant NOT fire retardant
– groundsheets are usually neither
– in this case the tent skin smouldered untill the groundsheet caught fire hence the rising flames
– are you seriously suggesting that a sleeping bag is any less susceptible to fire than a tent !!!!!
– DON’T have ungaurded flames in a tent
– GET the hell out ASAP. . leave everything, if no knife use your fekkin teeth. . . anything, just GET OUT. .
– SACK the narrator
u say u wud not have time to unzip the tent even though it took like 20 to even make a real flame
The best advice I can give about this is make sure you have a cutting tool per tent so that you can stick it in the side slice a big hole and get straight out. Hiding in a modern sleeping bag will cocoon you in a wrapping of plastic based fabrics that will melt and burn you from head to toe this will kill you. Never stay inside a tent that is on fire get out imediatly taking any one else in side with you. Cal. West End Scout Group. Surrey Heath.
this tent was damp and mouldy which is why it took so long to burn that coupled with the fact it was a fire retardant tent.
hi go scouting we did this that my scont group in nz we burt a 4 man 1 room tent to the ground in 40 sec
DO NOT get under your sleeping bag if you’re caught in a tent fire!! it will burn and melt on top of you and you will die. Just get out of the tent as soon as you can even if that means going through the flames, but it’d be better to cut your way out of the non burning side.
when ever i go camping and in my tent, i always keep a knife on me at all times, so that should i need to get out in an emergency i just cut my way out.
Hi Skip, Thanks for this video. I will show this to my Cubs (1st Beacon Hill, other side of Prances!) I was a Scout at 5th Prit in the late 70’s! I still have 5th Prt badges on my blanket. would love to swap scarvs for the C/F blanket? Thanks, Andy CSL Wolves.
