rei was 179 plus tax without tarp. . . marmont is 159 with the tarp and almost 1 pound lighter. . . . what other tentes did u use and how do they compare to the rei?
@YAHWEHisperfect Yes I have used it 3 times and have not found anything that I dont like about it. Second time I used it we had a real good t-storm roll through and it held up like a camper. As for the Marmont haven I have never used it.
do u like that tent? how does it compare to marmont haven?
@MichiganTNP Thats true i found a decent pot for $30 but when the MSR is $39 i guess it all evens out well like the vids check mine out some time keep em Coming

@2MuchFirePower I saw some good reviews on the pocket rocket but that was the big down fall on most was tipping. and the cup that comes with the jetboil locks onto the stove and has a christmas tree base now so it is more stable. I was looking for a good cooking pot if I did go with the pocket rocket and they are in the range of 40 to 60 bucks so the jet boil for the price (64. 95 at my rei store) and its an all in one buy for me. – schmoo -
hay Schmoo i am in the same boat as you just started watching Nutns Videos and now i have an AR-15 and a Tent. . . well basically ive really gotten into hiking and shooting since his videos ive bought some stuff and as for a stove the MSR pocket rocket is small light and 39. 99 at most places the only downside is its a little unstable just becouse of size
@Wyndstarthedruid REI has the older ver. for 64. 95 (atleast the one by me) right now because they want to get ride of them and only stock the new one. So im getting the old one the guy at rei even said the same thing you did.
@MichiganTNP well. my 2 cents on hammocks are. the simpler. lighter, the better, hennessy hammock explorer asym is the best ive found. also, jetboil pcs is fricking amazing. i would recommend the original over the new one with the heat display. the plastic is weaker than original, best place and price ive found is on optacticalcom, i am looking into a jetboil 2, aswell as getting my gear squared away like you are, i got a titanium vargo mug with lid to boil in. but jetboil. . . . =))
@Wyndstarthedruid I have seen some of the bivi hammocks but have not tried any out yet. I have one in the backgound of that vid I use all the time. I have done a couple over night hikes but im just getting my gear going in that aspect. I am picking up a jetboil this weekend seeing how I dont have a compact stove or a good drinking cooking vessel. – schmoo -
you ever look into a hammock?, i did the tent thing for a while. hammock saved my ass so many times. that is defiinitely a nice tent though.
@hallard069 i have not used it in the field yet but it sets up easy. schmoo
I’ve really been torn between getting this or a Eureka, just wish they made them in dark green. hoping to also do some hike/camp later this fall/winter too.
