Kids Play Tents – 5 Top Tips How To Find The Perfect Play Tent For Your Child

A play tent is a great toy that can keep your child busy for hours, and it can be very educational, too. But like with all toys on the market, just buying the first thing you see is not always the best idea. Ever bought a toy for your child that you were convinced was great, but he didn’t really play much with it? Or it took less than a week until it broke? Here are 5 tips that help you find the right play tent for your child:
Consider interest
Consider available space
Consider where to use it
Consider quality
Let your child choose
Tip #1: Consider interest If your child doesn’t like the style of his play tent, he won’t play with it. On the other hand, if you can find a play tent with your childs’ favorite theme, you can be guaranteed he’ll love it. If your child likes knights stories, get a play tent with a medieval theme, like a castle tent. If he’s more into soldiers, get an army style tent. Or get a gazebo or playful design for your little girl. If your child is very active, you might also consider a tunnel tent or tent tunnel combination which makes a great “adventure playground”. Tip #2: Consider available spaceOf course, the theme must be right and the play tent must look nice. But where are you going to put it? In your child’s room? The lounge? The tent might not look that big in the large shop, but play tents are fairly big toys. It’s a good idea to take the measurements and check at home if it will fit into the room. You don’t want to discover later that there’s no more space to walk once you set the play tent up, or even worse, that it’s too big. It’s best to get a play tent of a size that allows you to set it up and leave it there. Setting it up every time your child wants to play with it can be quite annoying. Tip #3: Consider where to use it Most products can be used both inside and outside, but not every play tent on the market may be equally suitable for outside play. If you intend to take your play tent outside, get one that is explicitly outdoor friendly. It should be water resistant and easy to clean, since it will get dirty easier than inside. Tip #4: Consider qualityA cheap play tent is not necessarily bad, but it might be of lesser quality than a more expensive one. If it’s just used inside, or you expect your child to only play with it for a year, and your child is one who looks well after things, this might be fine. But if your little one is a bit rough, and the play tent is likely to face quite a few years of boisterous play, then it will pay off to invest a bit more and buy a higher quality and more durable tent. Tip #5: Let your child choose Of course, your child won’t think about all the things we just talked about, and you will have to help him pick a really good play tent. But involving your child in the buying process can do wonders in finding a tent that will be loved. Because he won’t choose what he doesn’t like. If your child is a bit older, you can try to explain about things like quality and size. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to check out some really good options and then let your child choose amongst those. It’s worth it making a careful decision when buying a play tent, since this kind of toy you don’t usually buy a lot of because they are so big. Most likely you will stick with just one, so you should make sure your child will be happy with it.

Kids Play Tents – How You Can Use A Play Tent To Get Your Child Reading Or Overcome Reading Problems

Experts agree that reading is extremely important for children. Reading is not only good for imagination and thinking. Reading to your children from early childhood helps them to learn to speak, and when they read themselves this has a very positive impact on their writing. So, you should try your utmost to wake your child’s passion for books. But how do you do that? And what to do when your child is not too fond of reading? If maybe reading is a problem he doesn’t want to be reminded of?
There are numerous ways of getting your child to read. One that works quite well is simply making reading as attractive for your child as possible, for example by combining it with something your child loves. Let’s take a look at how you can use your child’s play tent to wake his interest for books.
Why a play tent is a good place for reading Sitting at the table to read is certainly not very exciting and will make reading look like an exercise for your child. Reading in a play tent instead is fun, thanks to various reasons:
Exciting atmosphere – Much better than sitting at the homework table. It’s like reading with the torch under the blanket when you are supposed to sleep.
Very few distractions – In a play tent, the outer world is shut out, and your child’s attention can stay much easier on the book.
Positive thinking – Your child associates her play tent with fun and play time. If she reads there, reading feels more like play, not duty. Reading becomes a hobby.
How you can use a play tent to get your child reading If your child can’t read yet, read the story to her. Later, you can involve her more and more by reading together or let her read a part aloud.
Story time in the tent – Make it a “tradition” to read a story for your child (or with your child) whilst being in the tent. For example, you can choose a specific time of day for your play tent story time, like bed time. This helps to make reading time part of everyday and cherished moments with you.
Read and play – Find a story that you can somehow relate to your child’s play tent. If it’s a castle tent, a knights’ story would be great, for example. If your play tent doesn’t have a specific theme, use your imagination. It can be anything from a cave to a spaceship. Your child won’t have a problem with that. Read the story and play it later with the tent.
Read in the tent – When your child is reading herself, let her sit in the play tent and read.
How a play tent can help children with reading problems If your child has problems with reading, it’s important to make reading fun, not a lesson.
Safety – Many children are discouraged by things they struggle with. A play tent offers a safe and relaxed atmosphere where they can face the challenge without everyone watching.
Shuts out many distractions – A play tent helps your child to focus on the book. This is even more important for children with reading problems, because they need to concentrate much harder.
Focus on the good – Kids love playing. What would help better than associating reading with a fun thing like a play tent, or even make it part of a game?
Summing up, a play tent is not only a great place for reading, for both bookworms and children with reading problems. It can help to get your child to read by making reading interesting and attractive, and take the “work factor” out of it. Don’t push or pressurize and give your child plenty of reassurance that he is doing well, and you will be amazed how much he will grow to love reading.

Kids Play Tents – Did You Know That Play Tents Can Greatly Help Your Child’s Speech Development?

Would you ever have thought that something as simple as a play tent can greatly contribute to your child’s speech development, that it can help laying the foundation for being really good in languages in school? Now, you may ask what a play tent has got to do with speech. At first sight – nothing. But when you look closer, you will soon find a lot.
When I say “theme play tent”, I’m referring to play tents featuring a certain theme, like a castle play tent, a shop, an aeroplane, a bus and many other designs. These play tents are great settings for stories, like medieval adventures or a mission in space. Besides unleashing your child’s fantasy, they encourage her to speak. When a child speaks, she learns about speech. And the more she speaks, the better she gets.
Let’s take a look at the way a theme play tent improves your child’s speech:
1. Theme play tent’s influences on basic speech skills A theme play tent encourages your child to speak. When your child is still very young, this is a great opportunity to teach the basics.
Vocabulary – Practise words with your child, for example name windows, wheels and other parts of the play tent. Teach her the colors and shapes. Tell a story around the play tent’s theme and introduce new words. For example, if you have a castle play tent, you can speak about knights, queens, horses and anything that’s related to a castle. Your child will start repeating the words and ask for others, building her vocabulary.
Simple sentences – Once your child knows words, he will start making sentences. Encourage this by making the play tent part of a story. Initially, you will be doing most of the talking, later you can tell the story together with your child. Let him tell his story, and only help when he needs it. Most kids are very creative in making up stories.
2. Theme play tent’s influences on higher speech skills When your child is a bit older and speaks fairly well already, playing with her theme play tent will help her to improve her speech skills. Now, she will most likely play with her friends rather, and they will imagine the most creative stories.
Vocabulary, sayings and phrases – A theme play tent is an excellent way to practise words and phrases. This ability forms an important basis for writing in school, especially narrative writing. When playing a story with her tent, your child will be speaking a lot and learn to express herself better and better. The kids will teach each other new words and phrases, and will practise others that they have picked up in people’s conversations or TV programs.
Telling a story – A theme play tent invites to play and tell one continuous big story (like the adventures of a certain hero), or a totally different story each time. Either way, your child learns to develop a story in his mind, and express it with language. That’s another skill that will come in handy in school.
Expressing emotions – When you tell a story, this involves not only actions but also emotions. Heroes get angry about injustice, people fear for a friend in danger, and the rescued victim is relieved and grateful. When playing stories with her play tent, your child learns to put those emotions into words.
Reasoning and arguing – When two kids play a story with a play tent, they will have their differences, even if those are merely part of the story. This is a great opportunity to learn to reason and solve arguments with words instead of fists.
There are many ways in which a theme play tent contributes to your child’s speech development. Your child can play and develop a number of speech skills at the same time, and he won’t even notice he’s practising speech. Play tents are a fun way of learning. The only thing that matters is that you choose a play tent theme that your child will be absolutely mad about. If you are not certain, let your child choose and you can’t go wrong.

Kids Play Tents – 3 Important Things A Play Tent Can Teach Your Child Whilst Making Learning Fun

Kids play tents may not be the most common toys, but they are certainly some of the best. They can be used in many different ways, playing with them is pure fun, and they got a lot of educational value. What’s so educational about kids play tents? Let’s see what they can teach your child! Kids play tents are excellent in teaching
motor skills and coordination
creative play
interaction with others
#1: Motor skills and coordinationKids play tents usually require a lot of crawling. Especially tunnel tents or tent tunnel combinations make your child a full-time crawler. And crawling is extremely important for a healthy development, since it helps coordinating the brain hemispheres. Your child will also practice to plan his movements when getting in and out his tent. Additionally, kids play tents offer a great place to play with puzzles, building blocks or other toys that require fine motor skills and coordination. The children can draw back and concentrate on their games without the outer world disturbing them. #2: Creative play There is not much you can’t do with kids play tents. Your child can let his imagination run wild and transform it into a spaceship, a castle, a hidden cave or anything else. He can invent the greatest stories and adventures playing in his tent. By encouraging creative play, kids play tents greatly contribute to the development of fantasy, as well as speech and narrative skills. If your child needs some help to get started, you can come up with a topic or the beginning of a story and let him play it. Creative playing is a brilliant brain exercise. #3: Interacting with othersKids play tents are fun when playing alone, but they are perfect for playing together with others. When kids play together, they learn how to interact properly with each other. They need to negotiate rules and obey them, and show consideration for other people’s needs or wishes. In other words, they learn how to behave well in their society. Did you ever think of kids play tents as a teacher in social behavior? Yet, this is one of the most important skills our kids need to learn if they want to get along in life. These are three major benefits of kids play tents, three reasons that make them top educational toys. Of course, there are many more. Like the versatility of their use. However, the biggest bonus of kids play tents is not alone their educational value, but the fact that they make learning fun. What else could you want for your child?

Kids Camping Tents – Should Your Kids Sleep With You Or Have Their Own Little Camping Tents?

Are you thinking of getting some kids camping tents for the next camping trip, because your kids just won’t stop begging for their own tents? But you are still not certain whether that is really such a good idea? That’s nothing to feel bad about. We parents just simply can’t help worrying about our children’s safety. To make you feel better, take a closer look at your kids (and yourself). Afterwards, you should feel much more comfortable with your decision. 4 questions to determine if your family is ready to add kids camping tents:
How old are your kids?
How independent are they?
How responsible are they?
Do you feel comfortable with them sleeping alone?
Question #1: How old are your kids?School kids should be pretty fine sleeping in their own kids camping tents. They already do many things alone and are used to being without you for longer periods. Smaller kids better stay with their parents. Or you can get bigger kids camping tents and let them sleep together with older siblings. Question #2: How independent are your kids?Older kids should not have problems, but younger ones might not feel comfortable sleeping alone, especially when they are used to having you close during the night. They might also need help with dressing, finding the bathroom or going to the toilet. If your children might not be comfortable alone or are not independent enough, keep them with you, or let them sleep with older siblings in their kids camping tents. Question #3: How responsible are your kids? Some kids are more responsible than others, and younger kids can be more responsible than others who are older. But a 3 year old might just wander off for an adventure without thinking and get lost on the campground. Teenagers are often up to mischief, and it’s difficult to control them when they sleep in their own kids camping tents. If your children obey rules well, don’t worry about them sleeping alone. If you can’t trust them to behave, it’s better to keep them in the family tent where you can keep an eye on them. Question #4: Do you feel comfortable with them sleeping alone? You need to be comfortable with this, too. If you lie awake the whole night worrying about your children, maybe getting these kids camping tents is not a good idea. But in general, you don’t need to worry about your children’s safety on the campground. They are not more in danger than at home, since they are surrounded by lots of peaceful campers. If you have answered the questions above and decided your children can be on their own, they will be fine. Kids camping tents are great fun and your children will enjoy them. If you have very young children too, use two kids camping tents but don’t group the kids according to age as you would normally do. Rather place an older child with a younger one, so that you know the little ones are well looked after. They will feel safer that way, too.

Kids Camping Tents – Is It A Chance Or A Danger For Your Kids To Sleep In Their Own Camping Tents?

Do your kids think they are too big to sleep in the same tent with you? Are they telling you this is “so un-cool”, and makes them look like “mummy’s darlings”? Then you have two options: Firstly, to listen to this nagging and get frustrated. Or secondly, to give them the freedom they want – by allowing them to sleep in their own kids camping tents. You may feel reluctant to let your kids being on their own. It’s difficult to control (and protect) them when they are out of your sight. But there are clearly also great opportunities. Let’s take a moment to consider the pros and cons of kids camping tents. What you risk with kids camping tents
Your kids can “escape” easily at night time and go for a tour through the camp and its surroundings.
Others could get to your kids without you noticing.
Both is not making us parents feel very comfortable. We want our kids safe. But usually, campgrounds are safe, even for kids camping tents. Your fellow campers have come to spend their holidays in peace, not to harm your kids. These are much more in danger in the big city where they go to school, and they can get lost just as well in the forest around your village. And if they want to go for a night-time adventure, they would also find a way of sneaking out of the family tent when you sleep. They don’t need kids camping tents for that. What you can gain using kids camping tents
More peace, because your kids have more privacy and freedom.
Your kids learn responsibility and independence.
Somehow, when our kids become teenagers, they like to be treated as grown-ups. After all, they are “not babies any more”. If you allow them to sleep in their own kids camping tents instead of the big family tent, they will certainly appreciate it. They will be easier to get along with, and feel much more self-confident because you trust them to be on their own.
It’s an excellent lesson, too. Your kids will never learn to get along on their own when they never are on their own. Give them a chance, and trust them not to get themselves into some silly trouble. Keep your kids camping tents close so that you can keep an eye on them, but let the kids get up on their own, go to the bathrooms alone and make sure themselves that they are in time for breakfast. It can also be a great challenge to have your oldest child being in charge of the younger ones. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide whether your kids would be fine sleeping in their own kids camping tents or not. You know them best. But if your kids are fairly responsible and you take a few precautions, they will be as safe as they can be in their kids camping tents, and this will be great fun for them.
