I have a coleman rangeview tent, and it has the little door also, it said in the packaging that it was designed as an easy way for the dog to enter, so you can take your pet w/ you. Hmm, guess it can be used as both!

I thought the side door was rigid and opened like an actual door? So hard to decide between this tent and the cougar flats.
@AppleLeaf22 i really like that tent, the cabin style thats very kool!! i use a coleman kenai tent now ( i think i spelled that wrong ) for the lake trips and a bass pro hiking tent for the back woods. that cabin tent is truly neat!!

That’s not a doggie door, silly! Lol. . . it’s a fan hole. You stick half of the fan inside and half of it outside so you can get cool night air curculating in your tent. Coleman makes them specially for their tents, so bugs won’t get in.

We kind of figured it wasnt actually a doggie door, but majority of my friends tend to use it as that. But I’m sure there are lots of uses for that little door. Happy Camping !
BTW, The doggy door access you mention is so you can set a cooler outside the tent and get snacks n drinks without taking up floor space.
